What is masonry?
Masonry covers a number of materials and has been a method of construction for centuries. Typically it involves the combination of stones, brick, or other durable material stacked or fitted together to form a wall or other structure. Often a mortar is used between the main components to bond the structure into a single unit. Though it is an old technology, it is still very popular today.

How is masonry used?
At times, it becomes the structure that supports itself and other structural elements above it. On other occasions, it can be used as a durable covering for other structural elements such as wood or steel.
